Primed Beaded MDF Panel 6mm (3 Pack)

Add classic beadboard character to any room with this primed beaded MDF wall panel. The finely grooved bead-and-butt face gives you the look of traditional tongue and groove panelling without fitting individual planks, and because the panel arrives pre-primed it’s ready to paint in whatever shade suits your scheme.

Our MDF Wall Panels

Made from moisture-resistant MDF, it's a practical choice for hallways, kitchens, utility rooms and bathrooms where humidity runs higher, as well as for boxing in pipework and building feature walls. At 1829mm tall it works neatly as half-height or dado-height panelling, and at just 6mm thick it fits flush without eating into your floor space.

Installation

Installation is straightforward for most DIYers - fix straight to plastered walls, battens or existing surfaces with a grab adhesive, and cut to size with a fine-tooth blade. The board is made to BS EN 622-5 from responsibly sourced timber.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The panel is made from moisture-resistant MDF, so it suits bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. It should still be sealed and painted on all faces and cut edges, and it isn't designed for direct water contact such as inside a shower enclosure.

For most walls, an instant grab adhesive applied to the back of the panel is enough. Panels can also be fixed to timber battens with panel pins or screws. Make sure the wall is clean, dry and reasonably level first.

The panel comes pre-primed, so it doesn't need a separate primer coat, but it does need a topcoat. Painting also seals the MDF, which matters in damp rooms. Two coats of a decent interior wood or eggshell paint is typical.

Yes. Use a fine-tooth blade for a clean edge. Cutting and sanding MDF creates fine dust, so wear a dust mask and eye protection, work in a ventilated space and use extraction on power saws where possible.

Each panel covers roughly 1.11m². Measure the width of the wall you're covering and divide by 0.607m to get the number of panels, then round up to allow for cuts around sockets, corners and switches.

Traditional tongue and groove is fitted plank by plank. Beaded MDF gives the same grooved appearance in a single wide sheet, so it goes up far faster with fewer joints to line up.

No. This is an interior panel only. Outdoors, MDF will absorb moisture and swell regardless of the moisture-resistant grade.

No. It's a decorative cladding panel and shouldn't be used to carry load or as a substrate for fixing heavy items.
